Transport Planner

Transport Planner | 32–40 hours per week (Willingness to take turns covering evening shifts if necessary)
Location: Helmond, Haverdijk 6

About us:
Modexpress is a fast-growing logistics service provider specializing in fashion and lifestyle products. With six locations (five in Helmond and one in Alphen aan den Rijn), we ensure that goods are delivered efficiently and carefully to our customers every day.

Your main responsibilities:
As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating transport activities. You will ensure that goods are delivered or collected on time and according to agreements, while considering capacity, routes, and customer requirements. You will collaborate with drivers, colleagues, and external carriers to guarantee a smooth and reliable service.

Additionally, you will be willing to cover the evening planner on a rotational basis and assist with customer support when necessary.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Route Planning

Plan and monitor routes to ensure efficient and customer-oriented deliveries.
Tasks:

• Assign shipments to specific routes.

• Plan routes using the PTV Route Optimiser, taking into account seasonal factors, time windows, load capacities, and specific customer requirements.

• Analyze performance and adjust loading/unloading times in the planning system.

• Monitor drivers’ execution and intervene if needed.

• Prepare variable routes and occasional trips for external clients.

2. Capacity Planning

Ensure personnel and resources are planned efficiently and available on time.
Tasks:

• Hire charter vehicles based on daily forecasts.

• Coordinate with internal departments on incoming goods and collections.

• Process customer orders and pick-up requests.

• Monitor and adjust quantities as needed.

• Coordinate with Customer Support regarding special deliveries.

3. Administration

Handle administrative tasks related to goods flow and transport planning.
Tasks:

• Process files, shipping documents, EDI files, returns, and refusals.

• Prepare data for invoicing.

• Manage damage claims, including communication with customers and insurers.

• Record and follow up on complaints regarding contracted carriers.

4. Coordination & Communication

Ensure accurate and complete handling of transport activities.
Tasks:

• Coordinate shipments released by Customer Support from reservations.

• Check invoices from contracted carriers.

• Verify returns and refusals.

• Ensure sorted shipments are processed correctly.

• Maintain contacts with external carriers and partners.

What we are looking for:
We are always looking for people who can make a difference and add value to our company. Key competencies include teamwork, result-orientation, and planning & organizing. We are looking for candidates who also have:

• MBO+/HBO level of education (or equivalent).

• Experience in transport planning.

• Strong spoken and written English and German.

• Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
